8/19/2010 First Step Internet BTOP progress on wireless infrastructure project

First Step Internet continues to move forward with their planned 5 county middle mile broadband infrastructure project. As the first step (no pun intended) in the process, First Step is required to submit for approval an Environmental Assessment to ensure that our project does not harm the surrounding environment either by our construction plans, or the network after it is built and completed. First Step has been working closely with local environmental firm, TerraGraphics of Moscow, Idaho. www.tgenviro.com The EA has been submitted for final review and we are awaiting word back on approval. Once the approval is given, First Step will be cleared to start construction. We are still hoping to have many of the 10 towers constructed and microwave paths built prior to the snow falling for this winter. More detailed updates will be provided as we move forward.
